You will step into the past when you enter the Gastonian's lovely drawing room, with its antique Persian rug, Waterford Crystal chandelier, and authentic English antiques. The inn is actually comprised of two adjacent mansions built in 1868. A walkway, which gives an overview of the garden filled with fragrant myrtle and flowering dogwood, connects the two houses, and a two-story carriage house has been transformed into a private honeymoon suite.
Each of the rooms and suites has its own theme, and each is appointed with high ceilings, operating fireplaces, Charleston canopied beds and ample whirlpool or soak tubs. The Caracalla Suite, named for the pleasure-loving Roman emperor, has an eight-foot Jacuzzi bathtub with solid brass hardware on a corian-stepped platform. Draped at its four corners with floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains, the luxurious bath sits in the center of a parquet floor, looking like the set piece for a Roman toga party!
In the morning you may choose from a scrumptious hot breakfast in the parlour or Silver Service continental breakfast in your room or courtyard with complimentary newspaper. There is concierge service which will arrange everything from dinner reservations to horsedrawn carriage tours. Afternoons, enjoy complimentary tea andin the evening, turndown service includes Savannah sweets and cordials. Upon arrival, wine, fresh fruit and flowers will welcome you.
