Lloyd and Ruth Morrison opened the lodge that passed to the Halpens and then to the Hantens in 1964. Daughter Michelle Hanten continues the tradition. Want a recommendation? Ask Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Roy Rogers, Cheryl Ladd, Mac Davis, Andy Williams, James Arness, Alex Haley, Robert Hulghum...

Cottages also have fireplaces for use in the cooler months.

Many summer guests raft the Rogue. Morrison's offers a very convenient and delightful way to start your river vacation. They offer raft trips as well as work with many outfitters than run the Rogue. Morrison's can assist with arrangements and transportation for your trip, be it a one-day trip or several days in the "wild section" of the river. Rogue River Raft Trips runs 2-, 3- and 4-day "wild section" trips on the Rogue (see separate articles).
Steelhead are a migratory Rainbow trout. These fish run from "half-pounders" (12 to 18 inches), to the 8 and 10 pound class. You can fish for them unguided, or with a guide from a boat. Normally flies and lures are used. A wet fly technique is used for fly fishing on this part of the Rogue. Occasionally, Coho (Silver Salmon) are taken when fishing for Steelhead. Fall Chinook Salmon run in September and early October. Morrison's strongly encourages "catch and release." At this writing, all "wild" Steelhead and Coho must be released. Call the lodge about fishing season, guides, transportation and equipment.|
