The Lodge at Vail offers complete recreation and dining facilities, including a heated pool, Jacuzzis, and two restaurants. The Alpine atmosphere prevails throughout the resort. The rooms and suites are individually decorated with lovely mahogany panelling, floral bedspreads and draperies, and carpeting in signature gray, pink, and cream. The baths have marble counters, telephones, hair dryers and, as an unusual touch, heated towel racks. Room service is available 24 hours a day. The international staff's meticulous attention to even the smallest details ensures each guest a pleasurable stay. Walking into the Wildflower Inn, the primary dining room, is like entering a spring garden in full bloom. The tables are set with Villeroy and Boch china, Reed & Barton silver, Zwissel crystal, and Laura Ashley table linens. A typical dinner might consist of seared sea scallops with truffles and lentils complimented by a Duckhorn Sauvingnon Blanc; venison roasted over applewood served with polenta and onion jam, complimented with Coudoulet De Beaucastel; and for dessert, a warm chocolate souffle cake. The rustic bar, Mickey's, offers a toasty fire, live music, the warming house drink Coffee Amadeus--and the best of Vail's world-famous apres-ski social scene. Cafe Alberg features a rustic italian cuisine in the evening.
