James Family looks forward to hearing from you! Located at the West Gate to the Rocky Mountain National Park, the Grand Lake Lodge was established in 1921. It has been owned by the Ted James Family since 1953. There are three generations of James family members operating the business together. We invite you to join us this summer. Enjoy your summer vacation or weekend getaway at the historic Grand Lake Lodge. Situated on a wooded mountainside overlooking Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Reservoir, the Lodge is truly "Colorado's Favorite Front Porch." The quiet, the crisp air, and scenery combine to make a very refreshing high country holiday. Outdoor recreation should be the focal point of this style of vacation. Since we are surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park, we have an abundant choice of trails for hiking and backpacking. Fishing (lake or stream), boating, golf, tennis, horseback riding, and white water rafting are available within the vicinity of the Lodge. The Lodge is well suited for individuals, families, business groups, and large reunions. The Lodge Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests may dine or sip cocktails in the dining room or out on the open porch. In the evening, you can enjoy the twinkle of lights from Grand Lake Village below. Special entertainment is performed by musical waiters and waitresses. In addition, weekly entertainment is featured in the bar. For a taste treat, try our Sunday Brunch. Guests stay in private, two-room cabins clustered around the main lodge. (There are no accommodations in the main building.) While the cabins offer modern conveniences, they are rustic in design. You can choose either a rustic room, a modern room or a family cabin. For larger parties we offer the Ford Cabin (used by Henry Ford) or the Elk Lodge. Our relaxed atmosphere and friendly service along with two meeting rooms will ensure a pleasant and productive session for your group. Outside, a barbeque area and patio deck offer an unforgettable view and mountain experience. Great for weddings, receptions, or any special occasion.
