Summer guest season extends from early June through mid-September. The ranch borders thousands of acres of back country and the Arapahoe National Forest, close to Rocky Mountain National Park, near the Colorado River, and in the famous ranch country of the Middle Park of Colorado. It is a short drive to Granby, Shadow Mountain and Grand Lakes. The ranch buildings are scenically placed along Drowsy Water Creek, which meanders through the ranch. GREAT STUFF TO DO: There is a complete program of horseback riding, swimming, horseshoes, steak frys, trout fishing, square dancing, jeep trips, song fests, campfires, hayrides, movies, pack trips, staff entertainment, gymkhana rodeos, raft trips, CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS and much more - it's your vacation, so you take part in whatever you like. Two challenging and beautifully maintained 18-hole golf courses are nearby. Boating and lake fishing are available at Grand, Shadow Mountain and Granby Lakes. Drowsy Water Creek, with numerous ponds, abounds with brook and rainbow trout that even the beginner can catch. The Colorado River and nearby lakes offer excellent rainbow, brown and lake trout. Some of Colorado's finest mule deer and elk run right on the ranch and in the adjacent Elk Mountain and Cabin Creek areas. The staff at Drowsy Water Ranch treat your children as they do their own - with understanding, patience, love and respect. THE RANCH IS FOR CHILDREN. The counselors and program supervisors are college students selected for their attentiveness, experience and interests in child development and recreation. Program and activities are planned for age groups of 5 years and under and 6 years through teens.
