KONA VILLAGE RESORT
P.O. Box 1299
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745
Remote Kaupulehu is not shown on most maps of "The Big Island." At the foot of the Mount Hualalai volcano, isolated by the fingers of ancient lava flows, Kona Village is an Eden such as travelers dream about but rarely find.
Guests live the Polynesian village experience in individual thatched "hales," or houses, beside the white sand beach or the ancient fish pond. These plush/primitive bungalows have no in-room phones, no radios, no TV, but special attention is given to luxurious appointments and special touches like fresh Kona coffee beans, a coffee grinder, and a coffee maker with a wake-up timer. Renowned interior designer, Mary Philpotts, of Philpotts, Obayashi & Associates, Inc. of Hawaii, has created exotic environments reminiscent of Fiji, Samoa or Tahiti. The Hale Moana dining room is in a New Hebrides-style building overlooking the sea. The blue and sea-green color scheme reflects the natural surroundings.
For dinner, guests may select either the Hale Moana dining room or the award-winning Hale Samoa dinning room, open all nights except Wednesday & Friday. Wednesdays, guests may choose to enjoy our Paniolo steak-fry; Friday's option for dinner is an authentic legendary luau, complete with a Polynesian show.
Rates include all meals--and what meals! Is it true that the weekly luau is the very best in the islands? Decide for yourself. Kona Village Resort is a tribute to founder Johnno Jackson's dream of building a truly timeless Polynesian hideaway where modern people can surround themselves with simplicity and nature. This spot is unique not only in the Hawaiian Islands but in the whole wide world.
