This holiday treat adds a wonderful look to the table and taste to the mouth - from Domaine Carneros winery in Napa, California BAKED CHRISTMAS PEARS in PASTRY 6 pears, peeled and cored 2 sheets prepared puff pastry Poaching Syrup: 1 quart water 1 pound sugar 1 tbsp lemon zest 1 tbsp orange zest 1 tbsp Domaine Carneros Sparkling Wine Boil all poaching syrup ingredients, add prepared pears and simmer for 20 minutes or until tender. Cool and wrap in puff pastry. Refrigerate and egg wash. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
